For those who actually know me in person have heard of my trips to Australia and how much love that country. And some of those people were little confused when I begin to profess my love for Japan. However, I still love Australia and one thing I really love is Australian musicians. Almost every band I have heard from Australia as been great. I still think John Butler Trio’s Sunrise Over Sea is one of the greatest albums in the last decade, and is a shame that he only got a little press in America, figures. Then there is Eskimo Joe from Perth, I keep thinking, at least with their early stuff, that this is Australia’s version of Keane. And I can not forget The Presets, but I will leave it up to people to listen to them first and them make up their mind. So that is what I have three “bands” that I love from Australia.
Oh, but wait I forgot.
In 2010, the Cassette Kids will be releasing their new album and so far I am in love. Their first single “Laying Around” is really catchy and I can’t help but it it on repeat on youtube. (link: http://tinyurl.com/ya6w6r2). However I have to wait till 2010 to make a decision. But I like what I have seen so far.
